Troops of 8 Division Garrison in Sokoto State, on Tuesday, neutralised terrorists responsible for various atrocious and heinous crimes in Tukandu Village.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the troops’ fierce onslaught terminated many of the terrorists’ lives, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
The army listed items recovered to include AK-47 rifles, one PKT Gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, two Rocket propelled Gun Bombs and nine motorcycles.
The statement read, “The troops’ fierce onslaught terminated many of the terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
“In the following mop-up operations, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, one PKT gun, 125 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, two rocket-propelled gun bombs and nine motorcycles.”
The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, lauded the troops and charged them to remain resolute and continue to intensify their operations against the terrorists to decimate and deny them the freedom of action.
