A Lagos State branch of the Celestial Church of Christ faced criticism after inviting Fuji singer Pasuma and street-hop artist Portable to perform at its praise night event.
The event flyer, shared on the church’s Facebook page, prompted backlash from netizens who expressed disapproval of the church’s decision to invite secular artists to the event.
While reacting to the development on popular social media platform X, a tweep identified as @Michael Tenger, tweeted, “CAN and PFN has failed the Church.
“In Judge 1:3 “Beloved when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints”
Also @iamthejyde, tweeted, “The word ‘church’ is a synonym for ‘business centre’ as far as Nigeria is concerned. So dont be distressed.”
While @Pakogist2 tweeted, “I’m 100% sure a pablo is the patron of that parish as well as harvest committee chairman. Pastors has deviated and yahoo boys has taking over.”
