A mining site at Bar-Kudu in the Bauchi State local government of Bogoro collapsed, resulting in the death of two women leaving three injured.
According to Leadership, the representative for the Bogoro constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Musa Maiwada, made this statement on Thursday during the plenary session of the House under matters of urgent public interest.
“Five female miners were injured in a mining disaster in Bar Kudu after a pit collapsed on them.
“Two of the women passed away, while the remaining survivors had various kinds of fractures and injuries,” the congressman said.
According to Nakwada, funeral plans for the deceased have been made while the injured people are receiving medical care.
In response, the Speaker of the House of Assembly expressed his condolences to the residents of the Bogoro Constituency and urged the local government to assist the victims.
