The Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday evening defeated the Italy to advance to the knockout stages of the ongoing under 20 world cup in Argentina.

The Flying Eagles defeated their Italian counterpart by two goals to nil to secure their second win of the tournament.

Nigeria’s goals came in the second half of the encounter through Lawal Salem Fago (61st minute) and Sunday Jude (95th minute).

With the win over the Europeans, Ladan Bosso’s boys are through to the knockout rounds, and with a game to spare, having beaten Dominican Republic 2-1 in their opening game.
