A yet-to-be-identified pastor was captured in a viral video in the moment he stopped preaching to celebrate after receiving news of Super Eagles victory over South Africa in the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’ivoire.
In the viral video, the pastor was seen preaching and talking about the love of God who gave His begotten son, Jesus Christ to die for the sin of world.
While preaching to the participants, the pastor suddenly view the screen of his tv and discovered Nigeria had scored against South Africa.
As a result, he told his congratulation to a glory break in order to celebrate the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
“So to love not the world is not about people but about the way, about the system.
“For God so love the world that He gave His begotten son that who do ever believe in Him will not perish.
“How far we don win? Let’s take a glory break. I beg, I beg all of you…I used God beg you all of you…common let’s take a glory break.
The Super Eagles had defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties in semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations to advance to the finals in Cote D’ivoire on Wednesday night.
It occurred that some people were in church when the thrilling game was going as the pastor was seen celebrating after confirming that the Super Eagles won.
The Super Eagles played 1-1with Bafana Bafana in a regular-time, with both goals also came from penalties with captain William Troost-Ekong scoring after 67 minutes for Nigeria and Teboho Mokoena equalised from a 90th-minute spot-kick.
After extra time finished 1-1, the three-time Africa champions beat South Africa 4-2 on penalties.
Kelechi Iheanacho scored the decisive goal as goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali saved two penalties.
Nigeria will face hosts country Cote D’ivoire on Sunday in the final.
