The Nigeria Examinations Committee of the West African Examinations Council has commenced its 78th meeting, with a focus on addressing the reported cases of malpractice and irregularities during the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates.
In a statement released on Monday via its official social media platform, WAEC highlighted the significance of the meeting, urging stakeholders and the public to stay informed about the outcomes.
“The 78th Meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee begins today to consider and decide on the malpractice/irregularity cases arising from the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2024,” the statement read.
The meeting’s decisions are expected to significantly impact affected candidates and shape the future of exam integrity in Nigeria’s education sector.
WAEC also reminded the public that the 2024 WASSCE results were released on August 12, 2024, but results for over 215,000 candidates have been withheld due to malpractice investigations.
Stakeholders and candidates involved in the investigation are advised to follow further updates from WAEC on the issue.
