Lesotho pulled off a stunning 2-0 victory against Zimbabwe in a Group C match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday.
This win catapulted Lesotho to the top of the table with five points from three matches, while Zimbabwe, with only two points from their three games, fell to the bottom of the six-team group.
Rethabile Rasehunts netted the first goal for Lesotho in the 21st minute, and Jane Thabantso doubled their lead ten minutes later, securing the victory.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Eagles are currently battling Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, with the match tied at 1-1 in the second half.
In another qualifier on Thursday, Benin Republic claimed their first victory, narrowly defeating Rwanda 1-0.
