Social media influencer, Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, on Monday revealed why he opted to have his brain surgery in Nigeria instead of abroad.
Punch Metro reported that the Aproko Doctor, in a post on Monday, confirmed that he had a brief battle with a brain tumour.
Egemba told thousands of his followers across social media that he was diagnosed on December 5 and was partially blind in one eye due to the tumuor.
Aproko Doctor also revealed that despite people’s pleas to travel abroad to have the tumour removed, he insisted on having it removed in Nigeria because he believed in the capacity of local medical practitioners.
He said, “It was Dr. Tayo Ojo, a neurosurgeon here in Nigeria that did the surgery.
“So many people begged me to leave the country and get the surgery done but something kept me back here because I still had trust in us.
“We just need more investment in our health sector.”
