The Osun State Government has revealed why it suspended the new fee implementation of the state-owed polytechnic in Iree, Osun State Polytechnic.
According to a memo issued by the Osun State Government through the State’s Permanent Secretary, Osun State Ministry of Education, Adelani Aderinola, on Friday signed a directive suspending the implementation of the new school fees.
The memo, dated December 15 and addressed to the polytechnic’s acting rector, also stated that the new fee structure would start to apply at the beginning of the 2023 academic year.
However, it stated that due to the state’s new administration, the implementation of the new fee regime had been put on hold.
It further read in part, “Further to your letter reference number OSPOLY/BUR/101/VII/239 dated December 13, 2022 on notification of approved fee for the 2022/2023 academic session, the management of the institution should suspend the implementation of the new school fees regime because of the recent change in leadership of the state.”
