Philomina Addo Yina of the Falconets was awarded the Player of the Match following Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Korea in their Group D clash at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Monday morning.
The match saw Chris Danjuma’s team secure their fourth consecutive win against Korea, having previously triumphed 2-0 in 2012, 2-1 in 2014, and 1-0 in 2022.
The decisive moment came in the 84th minute when Flourish Sabastine scored the only goal of the game.
Yina’s standout performance earned her the individual accolade, and she expressed her gratitude and joy on social media. She posted:
