Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has urged Christians in the State to emulate Jesus Christ by spreading the message of love and peace during the Christmas period.
Abiodun stated this through his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, on Sunday.
He said that Christmas is about the birth of the Messiah, who came to preach love throughout his lifetime, hence, his followers must make peace and love their watchword.
He further stated that since Christ died for the redemption of mankind, his birth should be remembered always and not just during the Christmas season.
The Governor also asked everyone to use this auspicious time to give a helping hand to the poor and less fortunate, so that they might feel loved during the Yuletide season.
Abiodun emphasized that Christians should not only celebrate at this time, but also engage in spiritual intercession on behalf of the country, particularly given that it is facing socioeconomic hardships.
However, in order to be allowed to vote in the general election of 2023, Abiodun urged the residents of the state to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards.
He also urged them not to be duped by dishonest politicians and to vote for those who have honesty, capacity, and high morals instead.
