The Kwara State Government has announced that public sector employees must complete their registration with the Kwara State Residents’ Registration Agency to receive November salaries and bonuses.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, and signed by Press Secretary Babatunde Abdulrasheed, the government clarified that workers who fail to obtain a valid resident registration number will forfeit their salary payments.
“From November, any worker who has not registered will not receive salary payments or bonuses,” Dr. Nuru emphasized.
The registration process, which began in July, is aimed at creating a comprehensive database to improve planning, resource allocation, and service delivery in the state.
Dr. Nuru explained that KWSRRA, the agency legally responsible for resident data collection, is focused on providing unique identification to each resident, thereby enhancing the management of public resources and improving public safety.
“In line with the administration’s commitment to accountability and transparency in resource management, a directive has been issued mandating all state employees, including those across the 16 local government areas, to complete their registration,” she stated.
Dr. Nuru further highlighted that the KWSRRA registration would contribute to a more efficient payroll system, strengthen service delivery, and foster trust in government processes.
“The integrity of our data affects all our financial and administrative systems. A complete database helps us make informed decisions, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure that every eligible worker is compensated fairly and accurately,” she added.
The Finance Commissioner urged all unregistered state employees to visit the nearest KWSRRA center to finalize their enrolment.
“By following this directive, the Kwara State Government is working to establish a more efficient and equitable system for both its workforce and residents,” she said.
