Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain reportedly remain keen on securing Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
However, acquiring the prolific striker during the January transfer window would involve navigating a double release clause.
Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, and while the Turkish side is optimistic about retaining him until the season’s end, a release clause applicable in January leaves his future uncertain.
Gazzetta reveals that Osimhen’s agreement with Napoli includes a €75 million release clause valid for January.
However, any club eyeing the Napoli loanee during this period must also pay an additional fee to release him from his temporary stay in Istanbul.
Back in October, Corriere dello Sport disclosed that Galatasaray would require €6 million in compensation if Osimhen were to leave mid-season.
PSG’s interest stems partly from their sporting director, Luis Campos, who worked with Osimhen during his time at Lille and has maintained admiration for the 25-year-old.
Despite being sidelined by injury, Osimhen has been instrumental for Galatasaray this season, netting ten goals and delivering five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
PSG will need to act decisively if they hope to reunite with Osimhen in January.
