The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of recruitment for tradesmen, non-tradesmen, and women as part of its 89th Regular Recruits Intake.
In a statement posted on its official X handle on Tuesday, the Army urged interested candidates to apply through its recruitment portal, emphasizing that the application process is free.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that the online application for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen and Women will commence for all interested candidates,” the statement read.
Prospective applicants can submit their applications via recruitment.army.mil.ng from March 31 to May 17, 2025. The Army warned that multiple applications would lead to disqualification.
The screening exercise for shortlisted candidates will take place in their respective states of origin from June 2 to June 16, 2025.
Outlining the eligibility criteria, the Army stated that applicants must be single Nigerian citizens by birth and must provide a National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN). They must also meet medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards set by the Nigerian Army.
“Applicants must be free of any criminal conviction by a court of law. They must possess a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, a hospital, or a local government council, or provide an age declaration,” the statement added.
Additionally, candidates must present a valid certificate of state of origin. The required minimum height for male applicants is 1.68 meters, while female candidates must be at least 1.65 meters tall.
