Bauchi State schools are set to reopen on Sunday, April 6, following a five-week break for Ramadan, the state’s Ministry of Education has announced.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry’s Information and Public Relations Officer, Jalaludeen Usman, urged parents and guardians to ensure their children return to school on the stipulated date to continue the second term.
“The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam, wishes to remind parents and guardians that the resumption date for the continuation of the second term is Sunday, 6th April, for both day and boarding schools in Bauchi State,” the statement read.
The ministry reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing education and supporting students’ academic success under Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration.
“As education remains a top priority for the Bauchi State Government, the Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring the success of all students,” the statement added.
Additionally, the ministry announced plans to launch a Computer-Based Test training program for students sponsored by the state government to prepare them for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examinations.
To prevent academic setbacks, authorities cautioned that late resumption would not be tolerated.
“Parents and guardians are advised to ensure their wards resume on the stipulated date to avoid any disruptions to their academic progress,” Usman stated.
Schools in Bauchi had been closed since March 1, 2025, in line with the 2024–2025 academic calendar.
